Case Study: Submitting To Software Directories For Website Traffic Leads And Fun!!!

The other Day I had a pleasant surprise when reviewing the traffic stats for my Blog.

There was a spike in Traffic that seemed to come from 1 refering website.

When I looked closer i discovered that the surge in traffic came from a software directory.

You see, some time back I created a browser toolbar and uploaded it to over 1,000 software directories. I included the anchor text “MLM Downline” and pointed the the links back to a blog post that i wanted to rank for the Keyword “MLM Downline”.

I never expeced any direct traffic from these sites. My only expectation was that the backlinks would boost the search engine ranking of my blog post and cause me to get indirect search engine traffic. However, not only did i get direct traffic from this one particular software directory but an added benefit was that over 490 people also downloaded the software to their desktops..

In the video you’ll see why these downloads are so powerful.

The best part is that this is but one of about 1,000 sites that i uploaded the software to.. WOW!!! I guess I will be doing more of these

Keyword Search Tool: Free Google Keywords Tool Research Strategies That Work

Keyword research is the backbone of all content marketing. If you can align the title, description, and content of your articles, videos, blog posts, etc… with specific keyword phrases that people are typing in to the various search engines while searching on that topic, your content will be found more easily and thus get more views.

Great keyword research starts with a Great keyword search tool. There are many free and paid keywords tool s on the market but for this example we will illustrate how to use the free Google keyword search tool.

Criteria

Look for keywords with less than 10K in organic search competition you can go up to 100K if you are more advanced)
Look for keywords with a minimum of 50 exact match searches per day.

Google Keyword Search Tool Guide Step 1

Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal, enter a base keyword (phrase based on the topic of your content) in the space provided, enter the required captcha code, and then click the “Get Keyword Ideas” Button

Scroll through the results and look for keywords that shows 1500 or greater in the “local search results” column. (1500+ per month = 50+ per day as per our criteria above) Make a note of ones that you like.

Open google.com in a new browser window and type in one of the keywords that you chose in the search box with quotation marks around it”" and hit enter. In the upper right hand corner of the search results google will displays something that looks like the following below (“web traffic” was used as the search example)

Results 1 – 10 of about 807,000 for “website traffic”. (0.26 seconds)

In this example google says that there are 807,000 websites competing in organic search results for the term “WEB Traffic” . You want to find keyword terms with 10,000 or less in competition (100,000 or less if you are more advanced).

Rinse and repeat…. Repeat the process above until you find keywords that meet the criteria specified above. Use these Keyword phrases in your Titles, descriptions and content of your videos, blogs, and articles. Using these keyword search tool strategy with the free google keywords tool will bring more traffic to all of your content.

Even if you have attempted affiliate marketing, internet network marketing, blogging, etc… and found acceptable success at it, you’ll probably want more. Everybody wants to get website traffic right? Added traffic means more potential customers, which means more sales, which in turn means more to your bottom line. In reality, it does not take an Albert Einstein to come to the conclusion that generating more website traffic is the way to increase your bottom line.

But where do you get website traffic from?

Undoubtedly, you probably are aware of the fact that there are several avenues that you can avail yourself of to get website traffic. Search engines, article marketing, forums, blog commenting, PPC advertising, and so on are just a few of the methods that are frequently exercised by marketers to get website traffic. And truth be told, getting more traffic isto your website isn’t really about utilizing ‘new’ methods, but rather about using these same methods just as part of a bigger ‘master plan’.

When it comes to the internet, almost everything is interrelated. Take backlinks for example. By employing article marketing, blog comments, forum posts, and such, you won’t just get website traffic, but also will be building backlinks as well.
